Blog Post #2
Joy in Chaos!
Oh hey guys! So I fear I actually have been so consumed by life the past week, that I forgot to post my blog! This past week was filled with lots of anxiety and worry for the future, but also so much laughter from being in the present. I think finding the little joys even in the scary moments is something that I need to focus on more throughout my college journey. I'll share an example. This past week I found out my therapist's master program ends in December (so excited for her!) which means she'll be leaving the practice. I involuntarily started SOBBING! Since starting therapy with her this past March, I've seen so much improvement in how I live my life being less fearful, which has been huge for me, every Tuesday I look forward to having my one hour of safe space time! Especially with how overwhelmingly chaotic this fall has been for me, I've really leaned into therapy being where I can be completely vulnerable about my stress, and the idea of not having that support in the spring really scared me. Anyways after therapy I was supposed to go to a fall festival with some of my people from Gator Wesley, and to be honest after finding out my therapist was leaving I was feeling LOTS of emotions and had no desire to go, but thank GOD I did.
I pull up and my friend Bailey, who is quite literally the purest most beautiful soul of them all, was immediately there for me and checked on me in all the ways. She even let me drink her watermelon red-bull (my fave). The rest of the people that were there were just the people that I needed in that moment. This was my joy in my overwhelming moment. Getting to hangout with my friends and interact with those kiddos for an hour and a half brought me so much happiness that I would have totally missed out on if I had gone home. So my challenge to you for this week is to try to find the joys throughout the chaos and business of this season of life!
